    Hi all

Am I wrong in thinking we can play are ps3 through are AW ?

If so does this mean we can play are 3d ps3 games on the mx 3d screen ?

Ok if we have got this far , am I right that this means the ps3 deals with the 3d processing so 3d gaming not a prob this way ? I heard pep having prob's getting decent fps from their mx gpu's even with the 580m .

How does the ps3 deal with it ?

afaik the hdmi input is sorta a direct input to the laptops screen so it bypasses the laptops hardware.

Im not sure if 3d will work as the laptops screen and the gfx card in the laptop do that with the nvidia 3d shizzle wich is build into the laptop. With the screen runnin seperate as such via the hdmi in im not sure if outside sources such as the ps3 can do 3d gaming on the laptops screen.

so basicly the ps3 deals with the processing but im not sure if the laptops screen can produce the 3d effect for your playstation as the 3d element is part of the laptop itself.

    hope im making sense lol

Right first off, you cannot pass 3D into the M17x R3 HDMI input. So you cannot play 3D PS3 games off your M17x R3. The 580m is more powerful than the PS3. The graphics on the PS3 are console standard which, not bad, but not what a PCs can achieve. Plus they are usually at native 720p and upscaled to 1080p. If you take a 580m, set your game to 720p and lower the graphics a small bit then the 580m still blows it away.

The input does work very well though. I used it with my Xbox for a few days while learning how to game with a mouse. Now, the HDMI Input isn't nearly big a deal as gaming with a mouse is 10x better then any controller!

Which Input of HDMI's is 1.3 and which is 1.4.

Anything with 1.3b and 1.4 can can send and receive 3D. As for cables...any 1.4 or high speed cables will do.

consoles are able to run the high quality games as they do now because of the fact those are coded for one specific machine.

console hardware is a fair few years behind on pc tech, most games do look decent on consoles but they will never be able to run as good as on a decent pc.

controller well heh each has their own pref i supose but rts and fps games belong on the pc with keyboard and mouse.

3d gaming on the m17x r3 will do allright provided u dont max all the settings out too much as some games can be power hungry :p

as the hdmi input passes all the actual laptop hardware more or less it bypasses the the complete 3d part of the laptop so 3d via input wont be possible regardless.

the 580m and the 69xx should both be able to export 3d via the hdmi, well i havnt realy checked too much into the ati cards yet but apperently their suposed to be able to do 3d via hdmi output aswell.
