No, it will not. The m17x's use a slot-loading drive, the UJ-240 is a tray loading drive.

Mmm, no. The seller is incorrect. The fourth photo for that item (one furthest to the right) show that it is a tray-loading drive. Obviously slot-loading drives would have had a slot for loading on the front. I'd contact the seller and ask if they loaded the wrong pictures for the drive...but all the sites I've looked at for the UJ-240 specify it is a tray-loading drive. Check out the Panasonic Blu-Ray drives page. The 135A, 225B, and 235A should be slot loading and SATA, so they would fit into the R4.

Sony Optiarc BDRW BD-5850H fits perfectly. 6X burner with BDXL support. 100GB
Build one in to my R4 and priced at 80 euro.

comes with bezel but with 2 clicks it's off. if R2 has sata connector for optical it will fit.
yes bezel needs to be removed.

That's what I thought, I figured the drive needs to be flush up against the slot in the chassis like the stock one.

Its not the taxes I worry about. I know if an overseas company wants to ship products to the US they need to have some sort of US imports license. It probably costs a bunch of money and for most its just not worth it.

that would be awesome if you can mail it to me. how can i figure out how much shipping would be and how do i avoid paying the import tax, what if you are just mailing it as a gift or something?
