I currently had to re-install windows. While installing drivers from dell.com I came noticed my hard drive was reading 465 GB half of my 1 TB I started out before the re-installment of windows. Under computer Management I found my second hard drive because I run a RAID configuration giving me 465 GB and 465 GB for a total of 1 TB. My impression was that I had 2 hard drives but whenever I saved a document I really saved pieces of that document in each drive to decrease time spent loading. This configuration seems to be using one hard drive and using the other one as a security blanket having everything the first hard drive has am I right? Or is this a harddrive not in use and just sitting dormant waiting for me to reinitialize it for use?

your system came with RAID-0 which means that although there were 2 harddrives, your system read it as 1gig...500+500. From the looks of things, you currently only have 500gigs available and the other harddrive is in limbo. Either set up the raid-0 again...

    OR

partition the second harddrive, assign it a drive letter and use it as a second harddrive
