Noob question here![]()
Am upgrading my ram but I don't know the difference between these two rams. They both have the same frequencies and timings but one is called 1333 pc3 10666 and the other 1333 pc3 10600. Why the heck did gskill name these two rams differently when they have identical specs? Am planning to purchase the pc3 10600 as it has a free usb stick![]()

There is no functional difference. All that matters is the 1333 frequency definition. The other is marketing. My memory (Crucial) is 10600 and runs perfectly at 1333. It's hard to believe how cheap memory has gotten.

I've used both (GSKILL) and the only difference seems to be some Macs don't like the (GSKILL) 10600. Other than that they've worked in every systems I've put them in.

10600 = 10660 = 10666
Only thing that might affect it is compatibility with your motherboard, which is a consideration for every stick of ram. -
Thnks for all the clarification guys. I would have opted with not so cheap hyperx 1600mhz but the real world improvement is hardly noticeable. Gskill 1333, however, is cheap and the free usb stick makes the deal even sweeter

Got my gskill and working flawlessly now. The only problem is newegg forgot to ship the free 4gb usb stick. Am gonna call them on monday.

My USB sticks were shipped separately. Check the order status. Mine showed separate tracking numbers.

I dont have any tracking number for the usb stick. And I just notice in my invoice that they did not include the usb stick
