    Hey guys,

My roommate has the exact same m17x system as me in my signature (I ordered it for him) and yet he has significantly better performance. Such as he loads into games faster and textures are smoother (face/bodies,effects, shadows). We have the same amd driver installed. I think my graphics card might be a problem as when I alt/tab out of Swtor (we are both in the closed beta testing) the screen flashes purple and so do all the textures.

He is playing on a 24" monitor and I am playing on my 27" monitor or my 32" tv/monitor.

Is there anything I can do to improve performance? Maybe change to default Dell drivers? Thanks for any help.

Go back to stock Dell Drivers. Uninstall from device manager, use driver sweeper to remove everything and then install the 6990m driver from DELL. Yes, I know you have the 6970m and so do I.

first thing i would are check all the things that are within your power...like make sure you are using the the performance energy profile.

Are you guys using the exact same drivers etc? is he overclocking

you may need to reinstall drivers and or windows before coming to a conclusion that you have a hardware issue
