Pimping 'hdmi in' picture quality with Darbee Darblet. To me it makes streaming games on hdmi input worth using.

Alienware seems to ignore the issue that hdmi in picture quality is garbage.... There are no hardware controls to tweak the LCD screen (which lcd monitors have) and mainly because of this the picture quality suffers badly.

After using Darbee Darblet in my HT setup I decided to put the videoprocessor in the hdmi chain leading into my m17x laptop. I am happy I did! Text is still pretty so-so but it pops detail very well (the Darbee shines for popping details in gaming and video)

I am using a lagfree wireless hdmi kit to feed the hdmi-in so no long cable runs for me and I am really mobile. It's lagfree as the video isn't encoding in anyway.

Maybe some of you disappointing hdmi-in users could take a peep at the Darbee aswell. Follow the links.

I tried Steams In Home Streaming but its too much lag and hicks on wifi limitations. But with Synergy and the above I can stream games from my powerful desktop PC and my m17x doesnt even heat up :)

    take care,

Thanks! I can tell you this really motivates me to buy another Alienware laptop when mine dies (it's out of warranty). Or earlier because as I am inflicted by the getting-new-stuff virus.

Since you're representative from Dell could you inform me the hdmi-in (on this generation laptops with 3D screens) accepts 3D? If so its limited to 720p at 60hz i guess according to the hdmi specification. 1080p 24hz is unplayable.
