I am thinking about upgrading my R2, if I do not sell it and get a desktop. I am thinking that I would like to upgrade the GPU and HDD. I would go with a 256 SSD and probably dual 560's if that is possible with the current motherboard. One question I have is would this R2 be able to withstand the increased heat from the new GPUs? What else would be important to upgrade, like ram or the CPU? Any help you can provide would be most appreciated.

If it can withstand dual 6970m and 6990m's it can definately stand dual 560's, but they wouldn't be an upgrade seeing how 560's are barely faster than 460's which edge out 5870's slightly with better SLI support. Don't know if anyone has tried 560's in the R2 before though.

Might as well save it up for the 6970/6990's. 560's are useless and not tested at the moment.

Would you be willing to trade that R2 for an R3? I see you're trying to build a desktop I can help you get started on that too by giving you a 800d case and a Sabertooth X58 motherboard I can throw in there :)
