Hi all, I installed an SSD into my new M17 last night. One of the drivers I can't get to install is the USB3 driver. I'm using the driver disk that came with the machine. When I try to install, I get a message saying that my machine doesn't meet the minimum requirements. I've got most of the other drivers installed as far as I know, and all windows 7 updates applied.
    Help!!

Have you tried the one on DELL.com instead?

The latest, ordered in September, just got it couple of days ago.

I assumed the driver on the disk was the correct one. I'll check out Dell's website tonight and try again.

I'd reccemend using the dell.com drivers over the drivers on the CD as the drivers on the CD are not up to date. ;)

Hi all, I tried the USB port, and it does in fact work. However I have no idea whether it is operating at the speed it should? How do I check that?
Also, when I look in device manager, The Universal Serial Bus Controllers entry looks fine, but the entries under 'Other Devices' has both Ethernet Controller and USB Controller with exclamation marks through them. So I assume I am in fact missing something?
And, I did look on Dells website under my service tag, and can't see any USB drivers!

Ethernet controller is your lan card. And as per the usb controller, maybe you should make sure you have nothing inserted in your usb ports that may require a separate driver for it (which has nothing to do with dell).
