Since I've updated my video drivers to the official ATI drivers from the ones on the dell support site. I've been having some performance issues with SC2. On my old drivers, I never dropped below 60 fps with vsync on with everything on high. I updated to the new drivers because my 3dmark 11 score was a little low, and the new drivers amended it. When I first installed the 11.5 ati official drivers I had really poor performance. After disabling catalyst AI the major issues were resolved. Should I change tessellation to app controlled instead of amd optimized? Early game everything is fine, but once I have a few buildings in my base things start to slow down into the 40's and it just isn't smooth. A game like SC2 NEEDS to be smooth in order to play properly. I "think" my other games (Shogun 2, Mass Effect, Arkham Asylum) are performing better with the new drivers, but I honestly can't tell. I installed some hotfix on the AMD site which had a larger file size than the actual driver (11.5bhotfix was 150 ish megs and 11.5 CCC was 80 ish megs). It doesn't say I have 11.5b in the CCC, it just says 11.5. Could that be an issue? I also have the 11.5 CAD 3 app profiles that I downloaded from AMD Catalyst Application Profiles 11.5 CAP3 (May 26) - Guru3D.com Forums even though the official ATI site ( ATI Radeon? Video Card Drivers) loaded CAP2 AFTER the other one loaded CAP3. Should I uninstall my CAP3 profiles from guru3d and load the CAP2 from amd's site? I'd like to keep the new drivers, but I need to get my SC2 performance to the point that I can stay @ 60fps and running smoothly even when things are clustered. I was having throttling issues before, but those were resolved and my temps are really low now. I've uploaded my gpu temps and my cpu temps through one SC2 game. They almost look too low even. Is my machine not working hard enough? Any advice would be great!

Edit: I changed the C to B. It was hotfix B, not C. Located here: http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/AMDCatalyst115ahotfix.aspx

Update: I deleted the app profiles and performance seemed to improve a bit. I honestly feel that I should be able to play SC2 on High (not ultra or extreme) on a machine this powerful. I think it would be ridiculous if I had to play on medium.

This is what it's suppose to be set at.

Starcraft 2 should run maxed out on your rig with your config. If you disable crossfire and it runs better then you may have a bad gpu. These things happend. I get 62.9 FPS with vsync enabled. 11.5 CCC & 11.5CAP3 are what you should be on. Make sure mipmap detail is on quality.

Tripple buffering doesn't even matter on crossfire. its for single cards. Why would you have it checked? Oddly enough, with catalyst AI on standard, vsync on and reduce mouse lag on, I stay @ a solid 60 FPS with everything @ ultra. When I lower it to high, it performs WORSE. That makes 0 sense!!

Also, why do you have catalyst AI on advance? When I first updated to the new drivers, everything on high with vsync with no mouse lag (unchecked), catalyst ai @ standard made the game choppy. Advanced made it even more choppy. If I put everything to ultra WITHOUT using reduce mouse lag, its choppy. I click reduce mouse lag, and its smooth. I'm so damn confused.

EDIT: I have everything on Ultra with catalyst ai on standard. I get a constant 60 fps with minor slow down when I've got 200 marines in a small choke. I read that catalyst ai set to advance forces alternate frame rendering. I've tried switching from standard to advance and I can't tell the difference in SC2. What I DONT understand is Why does my performance WORSEN when I lower my settings to high? If I take Catalyst AI off, performance worsens on ultra. With it on, my performance on high is garbage and on ultra its smooth. ?

Did you ever find a solution? My system is doing the exact same thing. Drivers updated with no progress in performance.
