Hey guys, I read In a later post that somebody mentioned installing the 485 in lieu of the current 460. If there is a way, can you please help me out? I'm not very technical so I'm sorry If this Is a stupid question.

It's a very arduous process. If your willing to spend the money to buy it, you might as well save up for the 580m. That way you'll also have warranty for it when u buy it from dell or such.

Yes, but I'd like to retain the 3d features, and from what I've heard, you cannot do this with the 580 without having an external monitor.

It is the opposite. The new 580m has the ability to do 3D. The 485m does not with the M17x R3 bios.

So what you're saying Is that I can go and buy the 580m and stil get 3d on my screen? Then why couldn't I just go get that when I ordered it?

Yeah, call them up(Dell) and ask for a quote, which should be like $550. I got mine with free nbd shipping though :D

I asked for any discounts or nbd's currently available, and they said no. I just left my email and phone number and told them to call me back if they change their mind. Which they did 20 minutes later.
