    Power button for M17x R2

    I own an Alienware mx17 r2. Does anyone know what the plastic piece the power button connects to is called? My connector from the computer to that piece won't lock and it isn't turning on now. I'd appreciate any help.

    Hello, Toraj, welcome to NBR.
    Are you referring to the white latch with a brown lock?
    If that's the broken part, you should look at replacing the media bar (touch strip).
    I'll come back with a link and the part number in a few minutes.

    In the mean time you can check parts-people.com (look under Alienware M17x or M17x R2, they're the same) if they have any in stock. I even saw them once selling only the PCB (the electrical part without the plastic bar).
