Does anyone else offer this memory on the Alienware M17X ??

So far I think PowerNotebooks.com is the only one successfully overclocking DDR3 XMP to 2660MHz.

    Benchmarks will follow shortly.

Seems awesome! But would the gains even be noticeable?

if the gains from 1333-1600 are around 2-3 fps @ 1920x1080 and 1333-1800 is around 5-6 fps I would have to assume that at 2600 you would be seen the first real benefit from ram that people actually care about.

    ^ Yep.

Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge only officially support 1600Mhz memory, so gains will be minimal to nonexistent.

3 years down the line we'll probably be able to use such RAM and gain some real benefits.. right now it's a little ahead of its time if you ask me. As Antipathy pointed out, the processors can't really take advantage of anything higher than 1600/1866 MHz.. Still, pretty cool and certainly gives bragging rights :D

You may not see FPS gains, but your CPU benches will certainly go up. Like nkdv said, bragging rights. :D
