About 25% off is about the best you can hope to get.

    Wow, $4,000?!

Definitely go for the M18x for that price! The M17x is not worth near that much for a laptop of that quality.

I called and talked to the sales in India and got $350 off a $2600 config. I just said that I was comparing their prices to a similar spec Sager and if they could come close to the $2100 I would pull the trigger.

    I was satisfied with that.

Well the 4k came down to 3700 and a 300 dollar discount on top of it....With an Xbox360 with It... Gotta finalise the deal tomorrow.

I aint goin for the M18x bcoz first of all i have no 3D TV and if i do get M18x thn i would go for maxing out the config which comes to 5k and some disc on it which crosses my mark of 4k.
Whereas M17x has in built 3D and at least i do get the satisfaction of maxin it out. :D

And yeah may b couple more years when i start earnin thn i would think of getting a godly Laptop :D

    Cheers!! :)

I had to convince myself to spend the $2k I did on my m17x this go-around, I couldn't imagine spending over 3 grand for a laptop. You can build a much much more powerful desktop for half the price. At least with a ~$2k laptop you can say you spending the extra $500 for portability/convenience.

Why would you max. out? 1/3 of that money is not going to give you more FPS in games.

Unless you have money to burn. :p

Not everyone just plays games. I also run multiple VM's for testing and the extra RAM and HD space is needed.

Wouldn't decent spec m18x out perform max spec m17x?

Absolutely. The only thing a M17 could beat is a SLi 460m, all the other Xfire combos on the M18 will beat the M17, regardless of GPU.

Hilarious watching you guys rag on somebody who wants to max out a machine. It's his damn money

Also the m18x is much heavier and bulkier than the m17x. So again it comes back to portability
