    I have an Alienware M17XR3 using windows 7 64 and A12 bios. Current updated version of IDT 92HD73 audio driver was working fine. Had to reformat HD and now whenever I try to install the IDT 92HD73 software I get an error "Hardware detected is not supported by this software. It refuses to install the software. I know this software originally worked and installed previously without a problem. I have tried everything that I can think of but the installation will not install. Please, does anyone have ideas as to what I can do or a different software to install. Thank You.

    Enter the BIOS (F2) and verify that the 'Integrated sound card' is enabled.

    Try this M17XR3 Windows 8 / 7 IDT Driver v.6.10.0.6421 Maxx Audio 3 + Quality

    or
    -> Re-install version 6330.

    Thank You for the suggestions. Still same install error. My Bios is A12 and the integrated hd audio device is set as enabled. i have done a regedit of IDT with nothing found to delete. There is no IDT folder in windows programs/features. I am trying to install the IDT file "Audio_IDT_W8_X02_A00_Setup-CGH70_ZPE.exe" from the link at the previous notebook review thread. Is this the correct file to install or is there a different one I should be installing???? I am also trying to install the IDT 92HD73 and all give me the same error "Hardware detected is not supported by this IDT software. I am getting sound but it sucks, very tinny, low, and nothing close to how it used to work with the IDT software program installed. It's driving me nuts. Help!!!

    Device manager -> Show Hidden devices -> uninstall Windows Audio Drivers/if any 'Delete the driver software for this device' -> Action/scan for hardware changes -> reboot -> download Driver Details | Dell US
    Extract drivers using 7-Zip -> driver folder-> run setup.exe.

    J-95-Still same error. Thank You anyway. I did a clean reinstall of windows 7 64 and the IDT Audio_IDT_W8_X02_A00_Setup-CGH70_ZPE.exe. file installed perfectly. The program is installed and sound is much better. Something must have conflicted with the install previously, I guess we'll never know what it was. I appreciate your help
