I followed this guide after installing my SSD, How to: Setup SSD boot drive with secondary Hard disc optimization - Overclock.net - Overclocking.net, and now every time I open My Computer, or some other areas, an error pops up saying:

"X:\Users\Josh\Desktop refers to a location that is unavailable. It could be on a hard drive on this computer or on a network. Check to make sure that the disk is properly inserted, or that you are connected to the internet or your network, and then try again. If it still cannot be location, the information might have been moved to a different location."

X:\ is my secondary drive. Another problem is that on the side in windows explorer, under "Libraries", none of the links do anything. Please help.

I had this problem a long time ago, and I searched far and wide for many fixes, most of them going through the registry, and occasionally the fixes would work for a little while. Then a few days or weeks later the same problems would creep back up. Then after a while it seemed to stay stable. However, as soon as I tried to update graphics drivers, everything started to completely fall apart. The libraries and user folders became unusable again and my computer flat out refused to recognize the video cards at all, and just about everything in Windows started to fail.

I ended up having to format the hard drive and completely give up having Users on anything other than C: I've never had anything but issues while attempting to use that setup, but ever since I reverted back to default everything is golden. Not saying it can't be fixed, but I spent months experimenting, using Google searches and attempting all kinds of crazy fixes for this issue and never found anything that could help. If anything the 'fixes' just made things worse.

Good luck, and hopefully you'll have better luck than I.

That sounds awful, sorry you had such bad luck.

I just tried creating a new Admin "Joshua" and logged into it and all his User files are there. If I delete "Josh", and stick with "Joshua" should everything be ok with no further changes to the registry?

^^^ Agree with JaiaV. What you're trying to do is a little too fancy and is fraught with complications and instability. With a 256GB drive, you have plenty of room for basic User files (and a lot more). Then set up separate folders or directories on the storage drive for Music, Pictures, Movies/Videos, Games, Data (documents), etc. leaving My Music, My Pictures, etc. on the c: drive under c:\Users\[Name]\. Then add d:\Music to the Music library as an additional location, and all those music files will be readily available. Same for the other storage folders. Keep it simple.
