I ordered my alienware m17x r3 a few months ago, had a problem with it and have a replacement sent to me. I havent until today tried to run a blu-ray movie on it and every blu ray I insert will not run. This is what comes up on device manager.

    Is this a blu-ray drive?

My original computer had bluray and thats why I got the 3d display with it.

the program im using to open the bluray is CyberLink PowerDVD

CA30N is a Blu-Ray drive. Can't help with the problem though - don't get my R3 until tomorrow, sorry.

i have the same bluray drive and it works.

have you tried some cd´s/dvd´s to run with it?

which version of powerdvd youre using?

btw: got another related question, hope its ok if i hijack your thread ;)
is there any way to control the drive´s read-speed? watching a bluray in a silent environment, the drive´s noise is really annoying over time.
