"Hey have and m17x r3, bios a12 unlocked. I enabled igfx in the second advance menu
Option in the a12 unlocked bios and was locked out my computer. I did a blind flash and was able to restore"
my new bios problem is everytime i try to flash a12 unlocked bios it doesn't show hidden menus. I ordered my GPU and should be arriving any day now. I tried flashing down to a12 dell bios and then back to a12 unlocked but the hidden menus weren't showing up.What do i have to do to get a12 unlocked to show all menus.

Assuming there is a bug of some sort, why do you need to use A12? Does it actually offer something of value that an unlocked version of a previous BIOS does not?

what happened was i mistakenly enabled igfx in the a12 unlocked and the system went blank and after a successful blind flash my system was restore and working. Since my new GPU arrives Friday i just want to check my bios to make sure it was running the a12 unlocked version which is essential to the gpu upgrade. it doesn't show hidden menus. Im wondering if i have to clear the cmos settings again blind flash and then flash back to a12 unlocked in windows.

ps: load optimal settings is greyed out in bios

How about trying a different unlocked BIOS. This is the one I'm using:

    [M17x R3] - BIOS A12 'unlocked' & 'SATA tweak'

The good thing about that one is that it allows for 6GB/s SATA connection for your SSD too, which isn't an option in the normal A12 BIOS.

Will do Robbo. thanks bro. will report back tommorrow at the latest.
Matter of fact thats the same one i flashed. I think i might have to wipe cmos settings
since i cant remember the supervisor password. and a12 unlocked wont let me load optimal settings.

    A12 Unlocked.
    Samsung 840 pro Port 1
    320GB seagate Port 0
With the 3D model you don't need to disable IGP, it's already disabled/not connected (PEG/eDP connector) still keep A12 unlocked for further tweaking/OCing.

@j95 I think the samsung 840 pro is port 1, and the seagate is port 0 i think but imma check in bios. The drives are ACHI mode. Everything looking good for my upgrade(770m). Will report on how upgrade went.

I wanted the 780m but if i paid that $800 I might as well save that towards a sli desktop. I'm still going to purchase a sli desktop by june.

    as always great posts from
    j95 and Robbo

yeah the ports are samsung 840 pro is port 1, and the seagate is port 0. I think i had alot of problems making the ssd port 0 so i used port 1 and changed something in the registry and haven't had any problems since april 2013.
