    Dear all,

    I have a problem with my LCD panel in my M17X R1.

    Recent days, sometimes my screen suddenly turned off while the machine is still running. I try to CAPLOCK button but do not see is what proved freezing. I have to hard boot the machine.

    I asked why the machine what happen ?

    I check in Event Viewer :

    The atksgt service failed to start due to the following error:
    This driver has been blocked from loading
    Driver atksgt.sys has been blocked from loading.

    Please help me

    also it would be easier if you had your system specs in your sig, at the end of the thread it is said that the failure could be linked to a faulty ATI card, so do you have a CF 4870?

    M17X : Q9000, single 260m/4GB@1333/500GB HDD/1920*1200

    I install Windows 7 Ultimate. I use default driver of Dell for GTX 260m.

    My lappy don't show BSOD, my lappy suddenly blurred image after change to black. My lapply freezing :(.

    GPU temp only : 48C :(

    Please help me what happen with my lappy :(

    well what have you done until now?

    Did you do a clean video drivers installation?

    try doing a fresh install of the P06 graphics driver from Dell:

    Drivers and Downloads

    If that doesn't work it may be a dodgy card.

    Yes, because all the other drivers released after P06 for me and many others (check the forum) who own a M17xR1 are known to be a bit unstable and completely crashes at any random time and/or the screen goes blank and then requires a hard restart.

    So I have gone back to this beta driver because for me it is the most recent and stable driver (been using it for months without issue). I have also tried the nvidia drivers from nvidia's site with the same unstable outcome.
