Have problem with my PSU.
At times it goes to charging, no reason what so ever.
Perhaps its me playing a game, and all of a sudden its laggy.
I unplug and replug and sometimes it starts working, sometimes it doesnt.
Trying to fit the plug in many different ways. (twisting calbe sligtly, sligt tension at an angle etc.
Its been like this pretty much since i got the computer about 2 years ago.
At times when i get the powercord back in a good way it will not start charinging.
Had to reflash my BIOS to get it going.
Contacted Dell about 1.5 year ago, and they swapped the PSU and my mainboard.
Problem has not been that irritating so i descided to live with it.
I found out how to get it charging without flashing my BIOS. I had to power drain it. (cord off, battery off and reconnect) Then the charging started again.
(Good thing not having to flash bios 1-2 times a month)
Now lately its becoming worse.
Having problems getting the flikking thing to charge, no matter how i plug it in.
Can fiddle with it for almost an hour before I get good connection.
Anyone else seen this? Could it be the onboard plug in the laptop and not the PSU?
The blue ring on the plug is never flickering. Always a steady blue light.
Strange that the PSU was swapped and still a problem.

It could be the plug in the motherboard. If you need a replacement you might need to contact [email protected].

Just wondering what wattage power supply is it? 180w or 240w? I see you have the 7970m so I'm just wondering if thats having an effect. Also what level of battery does it randomly start going to charging?

Thx, ill take the thingy apart again and have a look at it, but would think that when they swapped my motherboard (and i saw him do it and change my PSU) the plug is moved with it?

I have 240. I had crossfire before the 7970M.
And when carging works it starts pretty much as soon as it drops below 100%.
It also even hits charging a few seconds now and then during heavy operation.
(my alienlight starting to do the colorchainging thing of charging)
When it doesnt charge it doesnt no matter how low it goes. This made huge problems for me before when I was sure only way out was flashing bios to kick start the charging since flashing is a huge risk when supply is dodgy and battery low.
Problem with the PSU/interface
