Since purchasing my AlienWare M17xR3 back in November of 2011, I have had problems with RealPlayer Plus which includes a version of SpeedBit download accelerator. Simply put, the SpeedBit acceleration did not work. RealPlayer just released an update that was to have corrected some issues with the SpeedBit module and I updated last evening. I did a clean install of RealPlayer and lo and behold, SpeedBit acceleration worked. I downloaded a number of files of varying size and SpeedBit enabled on each download; all seemed well. That is until I shut down and then restarted the machine. On boot, Killer Network Manager reported that the “LSP was not mapped correctly” and offered me the option of remapping the LSP. I answered yes to remap and then received the “LSP not mapped correctly” error again and clicked yes again. At that point, Killer Network Manager functioned normally and continues to do so. The bad news is that SpeedBit acceleration in RealPlayer no longer functions.
My assumption is that both SpeedBit and Killer Network Manager are both trying to make their own modifications to the LSP and they do not play well together. That would seem logical as they are both using LSP to manage and accelerate outside the normal parameters of the WinSock. I tried the trick of having KillerTool unmap the LSP but SpeedBit still would not function. After a few hours of experimentation, I determined that if RealPlayer with SpeedBit were loaded last it would function correctly until Killer Network Manager mapped the LSP. After that, SpeedBit would not function until reinstalled again with a clean reinstall. Of course, as soon as Killer Network Manager was allowed to remap the LSP RealPlayer SpeedBit would no longer function.
I just wanted to share this information in case anyone else is experiencing this issue. I have shared these findings with both Killer and RelPlayer as information. Perhaps either or both of them can at some point find a workable solution. I suspect that it will be challenging though, as they both desire their own control of LSP to achieve their own management of acceleration.
    Regards!
