Hello all,
I recently discovered an issue with using an external display over VGA with my m17x-R2 (5870 CF-X). At random time intervals, Windows will make the device unplugged and then the device connected noises and the external display will go to the no signal mode and then back to having a signal. The problem is that when it does this, the external display now mirrors the primary (which is an issue with playing videos or blu-ray movies since the copyright protection prevents the movie from being displayed on cloned displays). This issue occurs when using extended desktop and also when it is setup to only use the external display.
I have no idea what is causing this issue or what to do to fix this. I am running 10.11 and the latest VBIOS for the dual 5870s. I don't know if it is an issue with the video cards or if it is the VGA port or even if it is with the drivers (10.12 does not work correctly with Minecraft for whatever reason, the driver constantly locks up and has caused a few BSODs when it locks up).
Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated.
Regards,
josurr

This is probably not the case for you since you said random and even when on one external display, but I get the exact some problem when I use HWinfo32 sensors tab (for temps) with eyefinity. It messes up the VGA displays, cloning them, and there is no way to fix it without a reboot.
