    Hey Guys,

I'm currently replacing the processor in my M17x, I have taken the old one out and the new one sits in quite nicely. However, when I got to turn the screw to lock it in it will only go about 2/3 of the way before putting up some serious resistance. With no processor in it is very easy to turn. Anyone know what may be causing this?

It's locking the CPU in place. It's normal. Just as long as you don't break anything.

How can I know if it will break anything though. This seems like more resistance than there should be - perhaps I need to be brave though! Either that or I could test it with the old processor and see what the resistance is like.

yeah, test with the old one. it shouldn't be very difficult, just a slight resistance.
are you sure you put it right in the place, it should be correctly aligned.

All sorted now, I was being too cautious. It didn't really require that much force to lock in, just a bit more welly than I was expecting. Locked in now and working nicely :)

    Cheers guys!
