Hello, I am new to Alienware and I have been at rying to get the most out of it. I just ran a benchmark test using the Vantage and I am truly not understanding what the numbers mean. My score was 118143DMarks.

My processor clock was showing at 797 MHz. Now compared to others, that seems awfully low. Can anyone give me a quick tutorial for dummies to help me read the results?

    BTW, I have an M17x r3, i7 2790, 6970M gpu with 8gb RAM.

    your score seems about right.

i guessing you were at idle during the time u read your clocks. at idle your multi is 8x and your bus speed is 99.8

    99.8 x 8 = your 797

once you have load your multi will rise increasing your speeds.

i can't recall the multi for the new 2760 but i think your system is fine.
sorry i'm not good at explaining all this mumbo jumbo, heheh

what is your CPU and GPU scores? if your CPU score is low, it may indicate a problem. I just a vantage score with my 6990 stock (715/900)

ok, your CPU score of 19005 is normal for your cpu so you don't have an issue there. Why you showed 797 was because at that moment, your cpu wasnt stressed so intel speed step lowered your mulitplier.

if you are really paranoid, download a tool like coretemp that will log your CPU mhz as you are doing vantage. You should see the CPU at rated speeds during the test. It should fluctuate a little, but when stressed, the turbo will kick in and you should see that in the log
