Hi All. This was first posted on the Alienware Forum and was suggest by Rodrigo that I post it here as well for all to see. This is my first post on this forum also. Hope it is of benefit to you all.

Don't know if anyone else has struck trouble with the new Radeon Crimson Driver.

I have an Alienware M17x-R4 I7 16Gb Ram etc. and downloaded and installed the new recommended driver for my G-card Radeon HD7970M. I also have installed Acronis TrueImage2016 which I use for my entire system backup. Everything was working fine until I installed Radeon Crimson. I could not open up Acronis and kept getting an error "LoadLibrary failed with error 87: The parameter is incorrect".

Twice I have had the Acronis techs access my laptop to try and rectify the situation. All seems ok until I have to do the reboot, then the error comes back.

I have since uninstalled the Crimson drivers and reinstalled the Catylist Control Centre drivers 15-11 and now all is back to normal.

Sorry to be so long-winded but I just wanted to make sure you all understand my problem. The question is "has anyone else experienced this or heard of the problem with the new Crimson Drivers. Has there been any other incompatibility issues. Thanks all.

    Hi Pedro

It's a nice coincidence as I was looking yesterday for a cloning software to transfer my OS from one SSD to another. I read countless threads about issues with Acronis, mainly with ATI drivers.
So for starters I would recommend you fully uninstall Acronis and test Crimson without it. If all is fine, you might want to give up on Acronis...

    :hi:Hi Nick,
Thanks for your response. Yes the Crimson Drivers run fine with and with Acronis installed. Uninstall Crimson and Acronis is fine. I just think it is a minor glitch that will be rectified soon a Accronis has to much to lose,
It was the ATI drivers that were causing insurmountable headaches for a lot of the Alienware Desktop and Laptop owners when they installed Win10, althought I think this has now been rectified with updated ATI drivers. I am sure the same will happen with Acronis eventually.
As I mentioned, I sent them a lengthy email with all the info I could. I also had them access my M17 remotely to try to sort it out so they also know first hand. Same goes for AMD.
Since I have reverted back to the CCC and all is now running at 100%, I will leave it for a while and see what happens. Thanks anyway and I still think Acronis is worth having.
