    Promblem with 2820qm..

    Currently I'm using the 2820qm and I got a wired problem with it. I only get 7.3 subscore in Windows Experience Index and ONLY 3100-3200 CPU score in 3DMark06. This chip is more like 2630qm but has 4 cores. (normal 2820qm acts 7.5 and 5750-6000).That's a huge capability lost!! All these were tested using default BIOS. After I installed my HyperX I change the XMP Mode to XMP2 and tested again. The result is the same.

    UPDATE1:I've checked the BIOS , the Intel Speedstep is enabled but I cannot find the Turboboost...But I believe that it's enabled..I have set the BIOS in section 1 and run the test again..There is no difference here..My BIOS is ordinary A08 from dell.com ..

    UPDATE2:I disabled the Intel Speedstep and 3DMark06 CPU score rise to 3888..Still far away from the standard score.. Is there any possibility that my temperature is too high and cause the coercive decrease of frequency?

    Hello.
    Did you try to raise a litle your BLCK in the bios ?
    With a litle o/c I manage to get 6212 pts on 3dmark 2006.
    don't have my laptop with me but don't trust WEI ...
    Maybe you can give a try with Throtle Stop.

    Disable Intel Virtualization and try again

    Also, what are your CPU temps when you are running 3dmark?

    Thx..I'll try with Throtle Stop today..6212 is a great score anyway..
