    Question About Return Period

    Hi Guys,
    I have ordered a new M17xr3 with mainly base specs. Just got the video card as the HD 6970 and 8GB ram and 1080p monitor.

    I have read many threads where people speak about a 21 day return period. Is that free of any charge? Not that I am planning on returning my laptop but is there a restocking fee? I live in canada and from what I can see on the web site it indicates a restocking fee of up to 15% would apply to any cancelled orders. Basically I am wondering if in the USA it is 21day no hassle no charge return or if it is also the same in Canada. Just a bit confused.

    The US website also says that a restocking fee of up to 15% can be charged. However, when I called them and told them I wanted to return my M17xR3 (13 days after I received it) so that I could re-order and upgrade the screen and get a free xbox, they cheerfully refunded all my money with no restocking fee and even paid for the return shipping.

    Your mileage may vary - could depend on who you talk to in customer service. Maybe me talking to them about immediately reordering was the magic words that gave me no restocking fee.

    15% restocking fee if returning with no issues. You can state the keyboard or anything was faulty and they'll take it back with no fees. And yes, also depends on the rep.

    Thanks for the feed back. I had ordered my M17Xr3 on the 23rd of this month. It was still in production when the 580M came out. So I have been speaking with a rep. from canada who seems very eager to sell me a computer. The Original with the 6970M w/8GB RAM and 1080p display that I canceled was around $2550. The rep. from canada managed to fit in the 580M by reducing the ram by 2GB to keep me in budget for just under $2600. As long as I don't get hit with some kind of cancellation fee I'll be a happy camper. Forgot to ask the rep. about this ;(

    **EDIT: Just recieved my credit for the first order.. looks like a full credit :) Gonna order my 580M GTX system now :)
