So I have a question regarding these different "Revisions", which as far as I can tell you can only determine from looking at the sticker on the back of the card.

I sold one of my 5870m's, and now that person is trying to install the card I sold him in crossfire, but he said his computer won't even boot because his original card is A00 rev, and the one I sold him was a A01 card.

Does anyone have any information on these different revisions?

Prior to selling him the card, I had it installed in my machine with my other 5870m which is a Rev A02 and I had no issues booting.

What's the deal with these revisions?

He should be able to update the bios on the old card.

He mentioned that he tried driver sweeper and updated the bios, but that he also read that the Rev's need to be the same to run these in crossfire.

I had never heard of this before, but I feel like its a vbios issue and should be able to fix it.

So what do you think is the best procedure from him to do it?

I figured if he ran cc cleaner, driver sweeper, install both cards into the laptop, then install the original dell 5870m drivers, that should work for him,

But he says he can get the computer to boot with either card installed as the master card, but cannot get it to boot in any crossfire config.

Any tips on how I can help this guy get this working?

Hey Timmay, I'm the person who bought the card, I just found your post here. I started one a few hours ago. Maybe it'll be easier to find out a solution there:
