I just got my R3 recently and I was doing some game benchmarks. I was playing Crysis 2 earlier today, my CPU temps reached 83 C, GPU reached 81 C. Was that acceptable?
    R3 spec: 2720QM, 6970M, 8GB RAM
    Crysis 2: extreme setting @ 1920 x 1080
I played the game on that settings for about 90 mins.

for GPU, I believe that is normal..However, I think the CPU temp is a bit high..In heavy load, my CPU temp stay stable at 53-55C after repaste..

repasting time for cpu. cpu temps are a little high. If you want, you could stress it with one of those tests, (windowsprime i think?) and see what it maxs out and is stable at. Gpu is fine, but a little high, so I would repaste that too.

Maybe a laptop cooler too, but try to figure out why its so hot instead of masking the problem

Thanks for the replies. I did a 3DMark Vantage run yesterday. The max temperature of both CPU and GPU were below 80 C. CPU: 79, GPU: 77. I was sitting in a cooler room tho. My laptop is currently not lifted but im considering getting a cooler for sure. Btw im using HWMonitor to see the temps.

Thanks again. As KillerBunny suggested. I did a 15 mins Prime95 (In place large FFT ) CPU test. The max temp is 89C. Stable temp is 86C. Is that normal for stock paste?
It seems to be close to this 2720qm + 6970m review i found online.
