AUO159D is from AU Optronics which is suppose to be one of the best flat panels available. So you should be happy with it :)

What about the 900p screen what model is that? I'm gonna report an official complaint about those vertical lines that I have to live with.

I believe the model number is LP173WD1 made by LG. The LG screens are the cheapo ones

AU also makes a 1600x900 of much higher quality

Its like you buy a new car and sometimes you get good tires and sometimes you get crappy tires...just depends on stock i guess

HWinFO64 shows the exact model number under monitor... In deed I can't get anything from device manager lol. And I am please to report that I have the LG screen with no vertical lines :) People shouldn't have to pay more to have a functiuning replacement to your not so functiuning part. What dell does is disgusting.

Its quite easy , i dont use any additional software :)

just go to my computer -> right click ( choose "properties") -> under hardware tab click device manager -> expand monitor section ( right click choose "properties" ) -> under details tab there is a droplist -> choose "hardware id" and there you go :D

Mines a LG Philips LP173WF1 . Its the same resolution (1920 x 1080), and model number as the previous one I had too (it was recently replaced by dell).
