I was just wondering if my M17x-R2 needs to support USB 3.0 connections to use the SF-19 Strike Force Notebook Cooling Pad, because my laptop only has USB 2.0 ports, or does that not matter? *Confused*

    Sorry for dumb question.

I can't find the post, but there was one where instead of chucking cash for a fan, you could always use a book. Preferably small and hardcover to prop ur laptop on top of.

I do it and my temps haven't gone beyond 82C :D

For M17x R2 it will not matter if you take the usb 3 or 2 version of the SF-19 unless you have a usb 3 express card.

I thought NZXT Cyro LX is perfect for M17x R2, mind to explain why?
Actually I'm looking for that cooler as well, but if the performance is not that good, I might consider CM U3.

Yeah I thought so too. I don't know why. I even bought another adapter so I can maximize the power of the 3 fans. Well the positioning of the fans are perfect! When I play the temp drops, but for like 3-4 degrees. I expect more than that. I heard CM SF-19 Strike Force is pretty excellent, it drops 10+ degs.
