I cannot decide on which to get the widehd+ or the wideFHD. Is it really worth paying the $150 more for the FHD?

    Right.

(Apparently my answer wasn't long enough. The answer remains yes.)

Upgrading the screen is probably the best thing you can do for your laptop. Just about everything else can be upgraded by yourself relatively easy.

Next to getting the screen, I would look at getting the best GPU for the price (which currently is the 7970M). The base CPU is good enough, but if you can hash out a few $$$, then the 3720QM seems to be the sweet spot (like last years 2760QM).

Get the base RAM, base HDD, and base wireless card. You can upgrade those yourself for more than half the price when you purchase them separately online.

Yes, 1920x1080 is certainly a requirement. 1290x900 is just weird. I hate strange display math. Like 1280x800. It's retarded. And you get subpar performance out of those bargain sized displays. You got to stare at the damn screen for hours...do yer eyes a huge favor.

Skyline, actually, I upgraded mine when I ordered my R4. The base card, from what I've read, is a POS. It was only $10-15 difference to upgrade to the Killer 1103 (+$75 upgrade) while it was being assembled versus buying it off an e-store for $60-$70. $10-$15 in labor and being configured with it from the factory that way is too good of a deal to pass up.
