I gotta say i was pretty excited when i got my R3 last week - it was in perfect condition. Just about a day ago and today i notice the speaker had issues...speaker doesnt play sound after unplugging headphone from the jack, requires like 3-5 shutdowns to get the sound back im afraid to put the headphone back in again... addtionally to my disbelief i found 2 black dead pixels and 2 white dead pixels throughout the screen - seems like JScreen cant even fix it...

ONTOP of that the 6990m just came out right after i ordered the 6970... long story short im def planning to return since im within my 21 day but i have couple questions for those who have successfuly returned a R3 and reordered:

    1. How long did it take for you to get your refund back?
    2. What method of payment did you use? (Card, Dell Preffered)
    3. Is it ok if i opened the windows 7 and drivers cd seals?
    4. Do i need the orignal AW box?
    5. Anything else you want to share

Thanks guys, always appreciate your help

I recently returned an XPS so I'm sure most of the answers are the same..
    1. Took me 18 days from the time of claim to the refund being cashed
    2. Debit/Credit Card
    3. Yes its fine just send it back
    4. No but they will require you ship it in a box suitable for protecting it from further damage.. you can buy laptop boxes or boxes with pull out pieces of foam from a UPS/Kinkos/etc. store and send it back that way..
    5. They call you a lot to inform you of 'progress', I found it to be a little annoying but other than that its a painless procedure.

I returned mine after 13 days and re-ordered to get the free xbox deal, and to upgrade some items. In my case, answering your questions:

    1. How long did it take for you to get your refund back?
I got the return label on a Tuesday, shipped it on Thursday, Dell got it on Monday, and I had my refund by Wednesday or Thursday.

    2. What method of payment did you use? (Card, Dell Preffered)
    Dell Preferred

    3. Is it ok if i opened the windows 7 and drivers cd seals?
I had opened mine, and they gave me no hassle at all.

    4. Do i need the orignal AW box?
I'm not sure, but they told me they wanted everything back, including the hat. I shipped it back in the original box.

    5. Anything else you want to share
If you're returning it to order another one, pester whomever you talk to and see if they'll expedite your refund. Mine at least claimed he expedited it. Wouldn't hurt to send them an email with your new order number, too. In fact, I complained that I'd be without a computer between the return/new order and the guy I was dealing with bumped my new order up to next day shipping for free. YMMV, of course.

    1. How long did it take for you to get your refund back?
    15 days or so

    2. What method of payment did you use? (Card, Dell Preffered)
DPA/credit card - however when one was refunded, the other I had to push to get the other refunded.

    3. Is it ok if i opened the windows 7 and drivers cd seals?
    Yes its no problem.

    4. Do i need the orignal AW box?
No, but I always keep mine for at least the first month. So in case there is an issue, I don't have any issues looking for a box.

    5. Anything else you want to share
I had a few refunds in the last few months, and Dell IMHO took the longest.

Thanks guys that was extremely helpful. I was kind of freaking out when i saw in the dell return policy that refund may take up to 60 days lol

Wow... if what your saying is true it only took you four business days to get your refund back fromt the time you shipped.. impressive! thanks for the tip
