Is there anyway to get nvidia optimus to work fully with nvidia's lastest drivers .. rather then using dell drivers from their website? I have an M17x R4 with Gtx 680m.

How is Optimus not working properly? I'd like to compare your Optimus not working properly with my Optimus not working properly.

Yes, the latest set should work just fine, the 680M is officially supported.

Optimus, when installed with latest drivers, does not allow switching through context menus and several other quirks. Optimus.jpg

When clicking this it gives an error code about not having correct admin permissions. However once again with dell drivers it all works fine. I'm curious, am I just not installing the newer ones correctly or?

    optimus work autonomously
you dont need to switch or change which graphics adapter is currently running
it detects the graphics load and automatically switches between low power or high performance mode

that menu is only useful if the drivers dont recognize the game or it uses the intel gpu by default

But with it not working .. it doesn't have "full" functionality. I was just curious if there was a way to do it. With everything working.

What intel drivers are you running? I have issues with latest intel (.3142 i think it is) and nvidia, you need the intel drivers which are installed under windows update, they seem the most stable/compatible.

I'm pretty sure that for Optimus to work completely fine and being able to use all of it's features you must stick to the DELL drivers only because they use a special Intel driver embedded.

Do you mean stock Intel Drivers and stock NVIDIA Drivers? Or stock Intel Drivers but the NVIDIA Driver doesn't matter?

    Thanks again for the clarification.

Hopefully though, Dell drivers will be updated eventually :( To take advantage of performance increases.
