    Hello,

Sorry for asking if this has been covered but basically today I stumbled upon a good deal and ended up picking up a 120hz samsung display.

This display has dvi and hdmi ins(one of each). I tried connecting it to my laptop using HDMI and through mini display port using a mini-display to dvi adapter.

So here are the problems and questions: first I cant seem to be able to set the refresh rate on windows to 120 - only to 60 and lower. I am trying to do this though the nvidia control panel. Is this right?
Second the HDMI connection looks a bit worse then the DVI one - is this normal?
Third and most worrying - when the monitor is connected through the mini display port my mouse starts to lag up for some reason - and just the mouse not the track pad. When connected via HDMI this does not happen - and in fact this has never happened before.

    Thank you,

    timurStas

All you're drivers up to date?

With my TV, I had to calibrate it for the hdmi in as it was super washed out at first. After calibration my laptop looks great on my TV. I have a digital video essentials calibration DVD that helps get everything looking better, but not perfect calibration as some can get with the external meters they put on the screen

    Hello,

The drivers as fas as I know are up to date. I did a calibration of the HDMI signal and its better now. Now just to get the 120hz working.

Can you turn off you computer monitor and display only on your TV/monitor

Maybe your laptop isn't able to put out a 120Hz for your monitor and 60 for your laptop?

    Just an idea

I believe you need a Dual-Link DVI connection to pull off 120Hz. Grab ya a mini-DP to DL DVI adapter and give that a shot.

    Hello,

I think you might be right. I just ordered a mini-disp to dual-link dvi adapter and will let you know as soon as it arrives.

    Thank you,
