Is it possible to get a 3D output to a compatible display from an M17X R3 via HDMI out with a 6990M?

Well, the 6990M does support AMD's HD3D technology. I think for it to work though, you would need a dual-link DVI-minidisplay port connection. I don't think you can output the 3D through HDMI (or at least what I've read about people on here outputting 3D). Of course you'll need a 3D display with glasses, etc.

So, assuming I had a 3D TV (and glasses) with DisplayPort and the appropriate mini DP cable from the laptop to it, it should work?
Thanks -
The word on the "street" (the forum) is that you will only get 3D-functionality if you get the GTX580 + the 3D-bundle.
Now, of course, external would be something else, but if the mini-displayport is not directly placed on the 6990m card, it would assume that it would not work..(If the motherboard does not support 3D output) but If it would work through an mini displayport on the MB, it should work with an HDMI-cable aswell. ( HDMI 1.4 supports 3D, if I'm not wrong.)
Edit:
Just sharing my thoughts on it, but what "Blink_C" wrote earlier makes somewhat of sense as well.
