Ok quick question: I know the hard-drive is connected to port 0, and dvd/bluray is connected to port 2. Can anyone confirm what all else might be connected to 2-6(i think it is the possible bad ones). I'm ok with leaving the dvd/bluray drive on the port as its just for reading not writing but I'd like to make sure I don't connect any devices to the external facing suspect ports that may be data sensitive. Thanks for any help.

I believe they said the 2 blue ports are good and 4 white ports have a 5% chance of degrading over 3 years.

k, do you know what external ports are linked to them if any?
there were rumors that the usb3 or esata external ports were. I admit i am a fairly big newb at all this.

LOL, the colors are for a gigabyte desktop mother board only. Here's a layout of what I know so far:
    Port 0=HDD 1
    Port 1=HDD 2
    Port 2=ODD
    Port 3=ESata
I have no idea what ports 4 and 5 are for or if they are even used. And just so you know the odds of you having issues before the fixed mobos come out are next to none, Intel released data showing that the numbers show approximately 6% of the chipsets would be affected after 2-3 years of use and we only have max of a few months til new mobos/chipsets will be put out to replace the current one.

Yeah but you don't know my luck.. But yeah I'm not terribly worried just, making sure I don't exacerbate it..
