    Would it be preferred to install the 11.10 drivers OVER the stock dell drivers, or uninstall old drivers (currently on 11.9), driver sweep and then fresh install 11.10?

    A while back, it was blasphemy to install one driver over the other without doing a complete sweep. You will be fine installing one right over the other though, it will not cause you any problems.
