Quick question, is this SSD compatible with my m17x R1?

I brought the m17x R1 back in 2009; the hard drive appears to be failing now (clicking/squeaking noises).

Looking to replace it, I found this as an Easter deal in the UK, can anyone tell me if it is compatible with my m17x R1?

If not, can anyone recommend a product (SSD or none SSD)? I'm very not too knowledgeable on what is and isn't compatible these days. I was going to get a 1TB or 2TB 2.5 inch normal drive, but again I'm unsure of the limitations and compatibility.

I presume once I slot it in, I only need to pop in my restore DVD and off it goes (I backed up all my important files).

Thanks for taking the time to read!

edit: after posting this, I noticed some related threads from 2011/2012. However I am not confident of the information back then, in case some tech changes has occurred that I'm not aware of! So I would just like some reassurance.
