    Hey guys,

I got my r3 three days ago, but I was tight on money and in order to get a better spec laptop (even with buying from outlet) I choose only basic 1 year warranty thinking that I would just extend the warranty when I had the money. But when I checked the page the prices were just way out there:

One year. Basic Next Day Onsite after Remote Diagnosis

    Learn More Help Me Choose

One year. Basic Next Day Onsite after Remote Diagnosis [Included in Price] -$279
Two years. Basic Next Day Onsite after Remote Diagnosis [add $198.30]
Maximum duration. Basic Next Day Onsite after Remote Diagnosis [add $568.00].

Thats $847 for the four year option which is just ridiculously high. The complete care for four years would be $1,445.03 ---- which is like .. umm you know.

SO my question is, can I do anything about this? I still could return my system and get the new one, but i got a great deal on this and I would probably not get it now (with all this couponing going on).
Can I somehow lower that price? Call Dell support or things like that? Or will the price go down over time?

If nothing can be done, Is it worth it to get the Four year option for $568?

    Here are my specs:

Intel Core i7-2720QM processor (2.20 GHz with Turbo Boost 2.0 up to 3.30 GHz)
320 GB SATA Hard Drive (7200 RPM)
    4 GB DDR3 SDRAM 1333MHz (2 DIMMs)
    2GB GDDR5 AMD Radeon HD 6990M
    Killer Wireless-N 1103 a/g/n 3x3 MIMO
    17.3 inch Wide FHD (1920 x 1080 60Hz) WLED Display
    9 Cell Battery

    Thanks a bunch!

Call dell and tell them you want upgrade your warranty and you are within 21 days return period. They will usually give you the same price as in buying warranty upfront. You can even get more discount.

yes I thought of that, Ill try to call them monday when I get the money on my account.
In regards to that, is the Complete Care (accidental damage) worth it? I would probably want to go with 4 years as this laptop is great and I dont want it breaking down on me

    thanks for your answer

I dont know,if you are using it as a desktop replacement and arent moving it around much I dont think you need complete care. Unless you eat and drink around it all the time (which is stupid, but who am I to judge...) then you should get it either way!
