    I picked up an extra GPU from my nephew getting ready to toss (literally) his R1. Since I also have an R1 I thought it would be cool to drop it into my notebook and run a dual GPU setup. Unfortunately WIN7 64 does not recognize either GPU regardless of what drivers I use.

    After taking the GPU's back out of the notebook I see 3 labels/stickers on each;

    GPU #1
    Top sticker: New VBIOS
    Middle sticker: Made in China DP/N 0X203R
    Bottom sticker: PN DELH-40GAB330Z-A30S

    GPU #2
    Top sticker: New VBIOS
    Middle sticker: Made in China DP/N 0X648M
    Bottom sticker: PN DELH-40GAB330Z-A30M

    Can someone tell me if these are compatible GPU's - maybe that is why I cannot get the O/S to recognize any video device?

    I know for sure the 0X648M is a 280 and is compatible with the R1. not sure about the 0X203R though.

    Can't help you on the cards, but...

    Did you make sure BIOS hasn't disabled discretes?

    Do you have the SLI cable to run two cards?

    Thanks for the feedback.

    Not sure what "discretes" is but will check the BIOS.

    I have a purplish (?) cable connecting the two cards - is this the correct cable?

    Yes thats the right cable. Discretes are the two cards you pictured. They are Discrete GPU's then there is an integrated which is on the motherboard. The integrated shares system memory where the discretes have their own memory on them. You have a pair of 280's so they are totally compatible. What he asked you was to make sure that they where not disabled and the integrated was enabled, also you should turn off Hybrid SLI in the BIOS and disable the Gen 2 PCI-e thing as well.
