My M17x R2 has had choppy iTunes video playback since I got it. I tried different settings and drivers but couldn't get the video to play smoothly. Other video (blu-ray, etc.) plays fine.

If I played the video in QuickTime with all the advanced settings off, however, it would play smooth. Recently, though, even playing the video in QuickTime resulted in choppy playback.

Does anyone know of an easy or quick fix to this?

    Thanks!

Seems like Quicktime is having an issue, not your card. I've never really been an big fan of Quicktime myself either.

What i would suggest you to do, is the following steps:

    1. - Get the vBIOS from DELL's driver-page.
    2. - Flash your cards with this vBIOS (BOTH cards. If you need help, check my guide. It should explain everything you need, can be found in my signature.)
    3. - Remove all your graphics drivers, and clean at the end with either CCleaner or DriveSweeper in Safe-Mode.
    4. - Install the driver for the 5870m supplied by DELL on their webpage. This driver is necessary to allow for Crossfire-functionality.
    5. - Activate Crossfire through Catalyst Control Center.
    6. - Find and download the 11.11 Driver package, then install it on top of the original DELL driver. (DO NOT try the 11.12a preview, it will make you crash and BSOD. ) If you can find an later beta-driver than this, you could try that..I can't remember the name of the latest release that worked for me.)

If you still get lag in Quicktime, i'm sure that its not your graphics card that is guilty.

    - Sctt.
