I can boot with no problems with the battery out of the system and plugged into the AC.

With the battery in and plugged in the system boots to windows but the screen never turns on. This also happens if I unplug the system and try to boot it running off the battery.

I updated my bios to A10, went back to dell drivers for my 5870 CF, reflashed vbios with the latest on dells site.

Kinda lost on what to try next or what the problem could be.

    Thanks

Battery dead, shorting something out, or parasitically draining the power.

Does the battery charge? In the bios try turning anything related to the battery off such as power adapter warning etc

yes charges and everything runs great once its booted off the battery. I am doing a full discharge on it right now then will try it again and make sure it does charge but it was at 94% and now says 100%

well it fully discharged and fully charged. I thought it was fixed but it seems like once the battery hit 100% charge that it started doing it again.

Something could be shorted/burned out in the charging circuit interface on the motherboard.

It seems to me that the problem is in the battery. If you need a replacement please send us an e-mail to [email protected] with your tag, phone and a brief description of the issue and we'll get back to you ASAP.

talked to Tech support today because of the battery issue and video cards again. This time it was the slave card causing BSOD. Tech support had me remove the card and the system booted. Then someone from hardware support called me back and asked that I plug it back in for further trouble shooting. Now I am back to 3 beeps and flashing Scroll and Caps with a solid Num.

System is dead again and Service tech should be out this week.
