    Upgraded my 520 to a 920XM :D

At idle, temperature is around 50C. While running prime95, it goes as high as 90C. So the question is, are these temps normal? If not, what is the remedy?

unless it's overclocked a bit, those sound kinda high. What kind of tp did you use?

Those temps are a little high however also very normal. Well within acceptable limits.

You can try using TX-4 or MX-4 thermal paste and change the thermal pads to better your cooling efficiency.

There are many cooling guide mods here on this forum.
The CPU retention mod is one of them however that one is a bit dangerous and can be tricky. Best to do thorough research before attempting anything just to be on the safe side.

However yeh a thermal repaste and pad job would do wonders.

I used Thermallake TG2 paste. Maybe I need to go back in and apply a bit more?

Those temps are normal. Prime95 is supposed to heat up your CPU. You probably won't get the temp down enough to justify opening up the laptop again.

Thanks, maybe I just wanna go digging up again ;)

Its just that 90C on prime was a little scary.

Edited: Sorry, i thought he was talking about GPU on gaming. My mistake

90 on Prime is normal. But unless you're CPU is overclocked a good bit you shouldn't be hitting those kinds of temperatures under normal gaming conditions.
