So my r2 just crapped out on me for no reason and i had to send it in to dell for repairs. I'm pretty sure i will need a replacement and really want the r3. Yes i no it is less powerful and i can get an m18x since my r2 was compelety maxed out. But i have a powerful desktop and want a laptop i can actually carry with me. anyway my point is, is there anything i can do to better increase my chances of getting an r3 as the replacement?

if you want something you can carry out with you you should take a New M14x. But if you want R3, just keep complain about replacement R2 will die like an old one and you don't want to go trough same procedure endlessly.

In my opinion, i would never swap my r2 for r3. Even after 1 week of having it i loved it...pure beauty.

R3 is like....imagine r2 is a sandwitch with, and R3 without any butter....for me it is enough....but this is m opinion.

If they can fix it no. If they can not fix it the will most likely offer you an R3 seems what they do lately. You will have to wait and see what yours is like when they return it. ;)

As long as he gets 6990 or 580m, he's fine. That and dual ssd's for the moniter downgrade and nonextreme processor on the r3.

id love an m14x but i dont have the money since i went all out on my desktop haha. so yea im trying to get my m17x to be a few pounds lighter (r3). Yea i had a fully maxed out r2 so i guessing i can get a pretty powerful r3? isnt the 580m and the 6990 just as powerful as the 5870 xfire?

Well it's the top of the line card(s) for r2. So it's only fair you get a single top best gpu if u get a replacement r3.

Get an 18x, sell it, buy an R3 and pocket some cash for a few brewskis ;)

Or that. If u get a dual 6990 m18x and sell it, you'd get more than enough to customize a decent m17x w/ 580 or 6990 and have quite a bit of change leftover.
