I know there was a topic for 3D but I cant seem to find it.

My question is what to expect from 3D.

I turn on 3D via Nvidia control panel and pop in a blu ray 3D disk. I know 3D is on because when I take of the 3D glasses the screen is all blurry.

I do see more depth in the 3D movies but is that all? Should it not pop off the screen?

What do the 3D owners see?

I have not tried any 3D movies yet, but I've been playing games such as Burnout Paradise, Dead Rising 2, and Batman Arkham Asylum. The only troubles i've seen with 3D gameply is in Dead Rising 2. When ran in 3D sound becomes very faint even though I have all volume settings maxed and its a bit sluggish to play even if i turn down all the graphics. Disable 3D and plays fine. I've threads where others have reported the same but found no solution, yet.

Slugisch gameplay is because the GPU has to do 2x the work of non 3D gameplay.

Does anybody notice when you play a 3D movie the screen becomes darker when the glasses switch on? how can I adjust brightnes in 3D mode? In 2D mode it can be adjusted with the screen brightnes keys on the keyboard, does not have any effect in 3D. Just want it a little brighter.

Nah, most games the 3D IS like looking though a window.

I havnt seen any games where the image comes out of the screen like the NVIDIA test app does.

Starcraft 2 has some pop out. Check it out in the settings in the game.

That is the reason why 120hz screens are brighter (400nit compared to 300nit of standard 60hz WLED).

I don't know the exact mechanics behind it, but I just know it should be offset by bumping up the screen brightness.

it's not offset by that. actually the screen is bright enough it's just the glasses being turned on that makes it dark. The glasses themselves are just to dark. If you take them off while the 3D is transmitting the screen is very bright.
