Just got my new R3 delivered and it's actually very nice. I ordered through the Dell Outlet and for anyone on the fence about doing so I'd like to say the machine seems to be pretty much like-new, and configured properly.

One issue that I wasn't aware of, and others might not be either is that if you order the nvidia 3d bundle machine (120hz screen/460m) you don't get glasses to use it with-- and they're $109 from Dell. Kind of sucks, and I wouldn't have guessed it from the config that mentions the 3D "bundle."

All in all though, it's a very nice machine for a very nice price. I can hardly complain. Can't wait to dig into this machine more and see what it can do.

It's an outlet thing. If you order new you get them. Apparently, the glasses are an "offer" when buying new and the "bundle" is the card + screen. As the rep said, "the glasses offer isn't available with refurbished orders", even though I ordered something that contained the "bundle."

    Kind of tricky I think.

About 95% of the PON laptops in the outlet are there because people who ordered there m17x r3 before the 15% discount returned them so they could get the discount makes me laugh, And most of the outlet configs can be beat by a 1200$ asus g73-74.

agreed, if you don't want to get a monster card like 6970m etc then the G series would be a nice choice.....

The machine in my sig is a refurb machine that I bought in June. It was $829 cheaper than buying new. Also, it looks brand new and runs great. Even with talking to reps on the phone and with EPP pricing, etc. the Dell Outlet is such a better deal for these machines.

My last 3 machines have been refurbs. I've loved them all, the only 1 I've ever had a problem with, had some dead pixels they didn't want to fix because it was below the amount they deem as defective. Since we got 30 days to return, I opted to return it, but then they said they would send a replacement screen and a guy to replace it... two days later it looks brand new.

So hit or miss maybe, but you can always return them.

My M17x R3 (check my sig) is from the outlet and I love it!
    Jeff.

Yeah, there's not many in the outlet right now for some reason. I honestly spent about 10-14 days checking the outlet several times a day until I found the build I wanted. It was worth the wait, and since it's a machine that's already built it will ship within 24 hours, so it all kind of balances out. ;)

@chennaxin95 No, I never did get any glasses. Guess I'll have to deal with Dell if I really want them (or just buy a pair.) No big deal since I don't do 3d yet but it just seems slight of hand.

My R3 is doing very well though, and I too had to search the outlet for a few days until the config/price came up that I liked. I basically just waited for the config I put together new was available and just jumped on it. I saved at least 700$ over the "new" price.
