When I switch to IGP whether I use Fn+F7 or right click and switch, my R3 freezes on the desktop. A tech switched my lcd panel recently, could this be related, could he have not plugged something in properly? Everything works fine on the 6970m but it all goes to hell when I switch. Thanks

Edit: I forgot to mention that when I used to switch to IGP when it worked it would change to windows 7 basic for a second then change back to the Alienware theme right away, now it changes to windows 7 basic and freezes.

Not a waste of time. This was worth a read. Say, if we do a clean install, and DONT install the Alienware theme stuff, will Windows switch properly to my proper Windows theme (e.g. Nature; Landscapes; etc etc?)?

I've got a new issue now with IGP. When I use HDMI to connect my R3 to my TV on the 6970m it works great. When I do it with IGP however, not so great. The screen is being cut off all around the edge. Half of the desktop toolbar at the bottom is cut off and that same distance is being cut off all around. I tried changing the resolution but that didn't help. If anyone could offer some input or check if they have a similar problem that would be great, thanks.

The same problem happened again... I had to reinstall AMD driver again and it works, I wonder why this happened twice now. Weird...

The switching works after a reinstall of AMD driver again, but I did that before and it lasted 1.5days before it stopped working again.

Yea it's working fine right now and I hope that it lasts, I thought I had fixed the problem a couple days ago with the same solution.

I am having problems with this as well. When I use the "configure switchable graphics" the 2nd (IGP) button doesnt do anything at all. When use fn+F7 all I get is a dialog box, after I press ok/yes nothing happens.

Does this happen all the time? For me, that happened a few times, and a simple reboot fixed it. The drivers aren't perfect, sadly :( I've recently installed the newest version (m18x version I think), and no problems lately.

Try to uninstall and reinstall CCC. Don't worry about the IGP driver, it is included with CCC from Dell.

Well, the same problem is happening again... I thought reinstalling CCC 3 times would do the trick but I guess not. I even tried a tip from another thread and uninstalled CCC, then installed IGP driver and finally reinstalled CCC. I really thought that was the last of it but it still is not letting me switch back to IGP. The renistalling CCC works as a temporary fix but each time I have done it, a couple days later and the issue is back. Any help would be appreciated. Maybe I shall try the m18x drivers?

M18x drivers still have not solved the issue...

Edit: I also should mention every time I do a reinstall of display drivers graphics switching works until I reboot the machine.

Well a little update I have is that I the Switchable graphics only works sometimes. If I boot up it may not work but when I reboot it does. Also I may have to reboot to find that it is still not working and reboot a good while later and it will work. I have been uninstalling and reinstalling without using driver sweeper or ccleaner, could this be the problem?
