I would get the newest one (even it is not very new) from Dell's driver section. Uninstall the old driver, then go into the Device Manager and uninstall your speakers. Reboot and install the driver you downloaded. May not help anything, but worth a try.

I Googled it too. Didn't find much. I honestly don't use the Dell-provided driver for audio. Windows 7 installed one when I reformatted that works beautifully. Come to think of it, I installed the chipset and VGA drivers myself, and that's about it. I let Windows handle the rest. You might give that a try? I haven't noticed any degradation in sound quality or anything.

im having the same problem here, the .startup file is missing from the IDT folder. I tried uninstalling all my audio drivers and IDT then reinstalling but it didn't work.
    Have any ideas steve?

The v6320 drivers (newer one) doesn't seem to have the IDT audio control panel, but the earlier version seems to bring the functionality back.

You can find v6314 here: Drivers and Downloads

Same problem here guys, with the original build and after a clean install I get the "cannot find .startup file" error. I'll also try backing down to the older version.

I have this problem too... But haven't noticed any downsides.

Sounds still work (from all the programs I usually use).
    Should I really be concerned?

IDT control panel gave the same error when I first received my R3.But I had already decided to reinstall my system. I wiped the backup partition as well.

I have not had any problems with IDT panel ever since my complete reinstallation. If you have the time and convenience. do a complete reinstall...after backing your windows to another partition.

Otherwise search and destroy anything that has to do with IDT including the registry entries etc. reboot...ccleaner your system including the registry and then update/install IDT driver by pointing the device to driver directory rather than .exe method.

I had the same problem as OP. Installed the newest dell version on top of the old stuff, and voila! It never gives me that stupid message again when I click the tray icon or the desktop shortcut. Also, with new version, moving the sliders for maxx bass/treble actually makes a diff unlike the old one. I still don't understand "maxx stereo" though, cuz it doesn't do anything.

Good stuff. Make sure you get the file that's called "R303928.exe".

I had the same problem with the exception that speakers no longer worked, just headphones. Since I almost always use headphones, took me a while to notice it. Hope this fixes it.
