I tried searching, but couldn't find an answer to my particular problem, sorry if this is a repost!
I just received my R3 and everything was perfect except for the fact that when I plug in the AC adapter, it will still run on battery (only when battery is at/near 100%) It also switches from Battery to AC Power notification every 10 seconds, is this some feature on the R3 or is something wrong with the laptop or the adapter?
Also I tried running the laptop plugged into the AC without the battery in and it turned on for about 5 minutes and then automatically shut down, and I've tried multiple working outlets.
    Thanks for any help!

This seems like an issue with the power plug on the back of the laptop itself, or you have an issue with the power brick or you have a faulty laptop charging circuit. Either way, seems like a motherboard issue

Regardless, call dell to get it rectified under warranty

Switching from Battery to AC notification every 10 seconds is not normal. You also should be able to run the laptop indefinitely plugged in without the battery in

yikes sorry to hear that whtan...

There is one thing that you can try before tech support...do a power drain.

Take out the battery, unplug the the AC from the back of laptop, then hold the power button for 30 seconds

I don't know if this will help you, but its worth a try
