So, ive got the Ultimate 6300 wirless, and ive got a Billion 7404VNOX.
Do you think i can get any better than 144Mb....NO!
Ive tried evey config possible. The only thing i can think of is that the Billion is 2.4Ghz only, although it used both 20/40Hz channels. It seems like the 6300cant dual band on 2.4Ghzm, so used 20Hz only.
Anyone else have this problem?

If you're using a mixed mode network (any non-N devices), your speed is halved. Full N speeds are only possible if you have an N-only network with N-only devices.

Ok, ive set the router to be "N" mode only, and its still only 144?
-
Its got to be 5 ghz, 40mhz channel width, and absolutely no other non-N devices connected to your network.

I am connecting the Intel 6300 wireless card on 2.4 GHz using 40 MHz width @ 300 Mbps.
I had the to change the 802.11n Channel Width for band 2.4 from 20 MHz to Auto on the wireless card in device manager, and then it will connect at full speed.
This is fastest wireless I have ever had, upto 8.5 MB/s transfer speeds.

hmmm.....mine is set exactly the same and only 144Mbps
Whats your driver version?
Whats your modem settings? -
Same driver from out of the box.
Check your wireless router settings. Make sure you are on 40 MHz width, use channels 1, 6, or 11 to cover the spectrum width correctly.

You may need to move as close as possible to your wireless router when you test to ensure good connection.
Go back in device manager make sure the other settings for the 6300 are all on high. e.g. transmit power.
If you still cannot get it too 300Mbps, I would be looking at changing your wireless router first, as the Intel 6300 is a great device, and I have posted a screenshot of the 6300 doing 300 on my 2.4GHz only wireless router. -
well thats pretty bad if you are connected with 300 Mbps
mine goes from 162 to 262 sitting 15 meters from the router and my transfers is 15 - 20 MB/s down and up -

Legend, changed to channel 11 and now speed fluctuates between 200 and 300.
+1 Rep, thanks mate!
